ITEveryone who’s used the iPhone for even just a few minutes knows that the Home button, the only button on the iPhone’s front, is crucial. Its function covers Touch ID, return-to-home, running apps revealing, Siri and screenshot taking. Apple has dropped the mechanical home button from iPhone 7 and replaced it with a static version that’s force sensitive. Instead of a button that physically moves, the new home button uses Apple’s “Taptic Engine” to click back at users. Apple has dropped the mechanical home button from iPhone 7 and replaced it with a static version that’s force sensitive.
In order to fix iPhone home button issue, so many products have born over these years. As we have mentioned in our previous blog, our customized charging port flex cable can be used to restore the return-to-home function of your home button. What’s more, the upgraded parts for iPhone 7 broken home button features a much more comfortable touch feeling. It can be used to not only restore return-to-home function, but also support PD fast charging with different types of charging adapters from 0.5A-2.4A. It can also be used to take a screenshot. After a period of time, the 2nd generation Universal Home Button appeared in the market. It can be used to solve some issues with no need to change the charging cable. It also supports all iOS systems.
Recently, a newly launched HX 2nd Gen Home Button for broken home button repair of iPhone 7/7P/8/8P appeared in the market. No more connecting cables. All you need to do is get the new home button installed and then connected with the phone via Bluetooth. So, here is the problem. Will it be better than the previous version? REWA has conducted a series of tests on the product and we have found some design defects. Let’s check it now!
Comparing with the hot-selling 2nd Gen Universal Home Button, HX 2nd Gen Home Button is relatively rough. There is also a length of flex cable soldered onto the Home Button flex cable. With components on the extra flex cable, HX 2nd Gen Home Button can be paired with the phone via Bluetooth directly.
The home button shielding plate cannot be secured normally due to the extra flex cable. Once the home button has been installed, it can feel bumpy when you touch the home button with a finger. Check with tweezers and there is an obvious bulge.
Usually, it takes 20s-30s for us to turn on an iPhone. However, this time it takes about 1 minute for the phone to turn on. This indicates that the installation of HX 2nd Gen Home Button can slow booting of the phone.
What Can HX 2nd iPhone Universal Home Button Do?
1. Pair Bluetooth directly Go to Settings>Bluetooth. Tap ‘HX-Home’ in the list and pair it with the phone
2. Restore return-to-home function
3. Take screenshot Press the Power button and the Home Button at the same time
4. Open Siri successfully Long press the home button for Siri
5. Reveal running apps Double-clicking the Home button reveals all running apps
Schlussfolgerung:
Pairing with the phone via Bluetooth directly, HX 2nd Gen Home Button can implement functionality of the home button just like the hot-selling 2nd Gen Universal Home Button. However, with a bulge after installation, HX 2nd Gen Home Button fits uncomfortably, and it may even hurt your finger when being touched. What’s more, it can also slow booting of the phone. Our opinion is that the product is not so recommended for those in need. Still, REWA will stay tuned for new updates of the product. For those in need of a cost-effective Universal Home Button, the hot-selling 2nd Gen Universal Home Button can be a better choice at present. Still, you can get the HX 2nd Gen Home Button and a tempered glass screen protector installed together for better user experience.
