ITWith the iPhone 16e, Apple has added a budget-friendly version of its iPhone 16 series. It features a high-capacity battery, a 48-megapixel camera, Apple Intelligence, an A18 chipset, an Apple modem, more storage space, and Face ID. In this iPhone 16e teardown we’ll explore the details and uncover the secrets within this latest release.
Design and Build Quality
Apple’s iPhone 16e weighs 166.1 grams, making it the lightest in the iPhone 16 series. Its design is similar to its predecessor, the iPhone 15. The disassembly process reveals that while the internal structure has been altered, the overall appearance remains the same.

|---|---|
| iPhone 16e | 166.1 grams |
| iPhone 16 | 170 grams |
| iPhone 16 Plus | 199 grams |
| iPhone 16 Pro | 199 grams |

Battery and Performance
A notable upgrade to the iPhone 16e is its battery capacity, which has been increased to 4005 mAh. This enhancement allows for better performance and longevity. Interestingly, the smaller camera design has improved battery capacity by allowing more space within the phone.
Camera Features
There is a 48-megapixel camera on the back, as well as a 2x telephoto lens, but it does not integrate an ultra-wide lens or LiDAR technology. Consequently, users will not benefit from ultra-wide photography but features like cinematic mode and macro shooting will still be available.
Screen and Compatibility
This iPhone’s display is compatible with the iPhone 14’s display, and it features a 6.1-inch OLED display. It appears that the iPhone 16e screen can be fitted onto the iPhone 14 with no problem, indicating that the two models use similar components.
The New C1 Chip
A significant highlight of the iPhone 16e is its innovative C1 chip, Apple’s first in-house designed cellular modem. It is claimed that the C1 chip is the most energy-efficient modem available in iPhones because it combines advanced manufacturing processes. Therefore, users can expect enhanced battery performance as a result of this cutting-edge technology.
Conclusion
As a whole, the iPhone 16e is indeed a compelling device that caters to budget-conscious consumers while maintaining key features typical of Apple’s premium devices. With advancements in battery life and processing power, it undoubtedly stands as a noteworthy addition to the iPhone lineup.
