Choosing the Best iPhone X Screen: A Comprehensive Comparison by REWA LAB

When it comes to replacing the screen of your beloved iPhone X, navigating through the array of options can be confusing. With choices like OEM NEW, AA Grade, Aftermarket Flexible OLED, Aftermarket Rigid OLED, Aftermarket In-cell, and Aftermarket LCD, finding the right screen can be a daunting task. But fret not, because we’re here to help you make an informed decision. In this comprehensive comparison, REWA LAB explores the intricacies of these iPhone X screens to guide you in choosing the best one for your needs.

Understanding the iPhone X Screen Variants

Let’s begin by understanding the six different iPhone X screens available in the market:

1. OEM NEW
2. AA Grade (Original OLED assembled by a third-party factory)
3. Aftermarket Flexible OLED
4. Aftermarket Rigid OLED
5. Aftermarket In-cell
6. Aftermarket LCD

The Contenders

Among these options, AA Grade, Aftermarket Flexible OLED, and Aftermarket Rigid OLED stand out as they share a similar structure with the OEM NEW screen. This results in relatively stable quality and performance. AA Grade, in particular, closely mirrors the function stability of the OEM NEW screen as it’s made from original OLED components.

However, after rigorous testing conducted by REWA LAB, it was evident that the Aftermarket In-cell iPhone X screen exhibited relatively low brightness levels, ranging from 250cd/㎡ to 420cd/㎡. The bonding area of the bottom ICs also overheated during use, significantly impacting the user experience. Similarly, the Aftermarket LCD screen featured a brightness of 300cd/㎡, poor backlight uniformity, and LCD display quality. Due to these shortcomings, REWA does not recommend the Aftermarket In-cell and Aftermarket LCD screens.

Consequently, our top recommendations are AA Grade, Aftermarket Flexible OLED, and Aftermarket Rigid OLED. Let’s delve into the comparison test results to help you make an informed choice.

Comparative Analysis: We’ve evaluated these screens in various aspects to determine the best options for your iPhone X:

All screens showcased smooth edges with impeccable adhesive strength, ensuring a secure fit.

Cosmetic Test -Hydrophobic Effect

The Aftermarket In-cell and Aftermarket LCD screens were notably thicker due to their structural design.

Structure Test- Installation

All the screens fit seamlessly into the iPhone X, ensuring a hassle-free installation process.

Structure Test- Phone Thickness

Comparing phone thickness, Aftermarket Flexible OLED, Aftermarket In-cell, and Aftermarket LCD were relatively thicker, while the other two screens closely resembled the OEM NEW screen.

Function Test- Touch & 3D Touch & Keyboard

In function tests, all screens performed exceptionally well in touch, 3D touch, and keyboard response.

Display Test- Pure Color Screen Performance

Aftermarket Flexible OLED and Aftermarket Rigid OLED screens closely matched the OEM NEW screen in display quality.

Display Test- Polarizer Sunglasses Test

All screens passed the polarizer test with flying colors, maintaining visibility from all angles.

Display Test- Brightness & Color Temperature

AA Grade, Aftermarket Flexible OLED, and Aftermarket Rigid OLED screens offered normal brightness levels, while the Aftermarket In-cell and Aftermarket LCD screens fell short in this department.
